| This
page is being used to collect information about the
history of the paperfolding design I call The Non-Woven
Star of David (version 3). Please contact me if you know
any of this information is incorrect or if you have any
other information that should be added. Thank you. There are separate pages for The Non-Woven Star of David (version 1) and The Non-Woven Star of David (version 2). ********** As far as I know this design first appears in two works published in 1895. 1895 As 'Rosace hexagonale' in 'La Deuxieme Annee de Travail Manuel (Cours Superieur)' by P Martin, which was published by Armand Colin et ces Editeurs in Paris in 1895.
********** In 'Geometrie, Dessin et Travaux Manuels - Cours Moyen', produced under the direction of M E. Cazes, which was published by Librairie Ch. Delagrave in Paris in 1895. The text says that if several are folded from different sizes of paper, 'By introducing them one into the other we obtain a multi-coloured star with the most beautiful effect'.This multi-piece version is, of course, a modular design.
********** The same design also appears: 1939 As 'Estrella de 6 Puntas' in 'Plegado' by Rufino Yapur, which was published by Editores Independencia in Buenos Aires in 1939.
********** 1940 As 'Roseta de Tres Puntas' (Rosette with Three Points) in 'El Plegado y Cartonaje en la Escuela Primaria' by Antonio M Luchia and Corina Luciani de Luchia, which was published by Editorial Kapelusz in Buenos Aires in 1940.
********** 1951 As 'Roseta simple abierta' and 'Estralla de seis puntas' in Plegado laminas published by Della Penna, April 1951.
********** As 'Les etoiles imbriquees' in 'Occupons nos doigts' by Raymond Richard which was published by Les Editions du Cep Beaujolais in Villefranche-sur-Rhone in 1951.
