and history of the origami design known as the Dove.

Thank you. ********** 1931 As far as I know this design first appears in 'Origami (Part 1)' by Isao Honda, which was first published in Japan in 1931. ********** 1959 Two versions of the same design appeared, just as 'Bird', in 'Origami: Book Three' by Florence Sakade, which was published by the Charles E Tuttle Company in Rutland, Vermont and Tokyo in 1959. ********** 1965 This design also appears in 'The World of Origami' by Isao Honda, which was published in the USA by Japan Publications Trading Company in 1965. ********** 1968 The design also appears, as 'Pigeon', in 'Your Book of Paperfolding' by Vanessa and Eric de Maré, which was published by Faber and Faber in London in 1968, where it is said to be a traditional Japanese design. ********** |
