This
page is being used to collect information about the
history of the paperfolding design I call The Cube Corner
Pyramid. Please contact me if you know any of this
information is incorrect or if you have any other
information that should be added. Thank you. This page records information about uncut, cut, truncated, dimpled and multiply dimpled / pimpled (zig-zag) versions. ********** 1890 As far as I know the basic cut version of the design first appears in 'Exercises Methodiques de Travaux Manuels' by Jean Boogaerts, which was published in Belgium and France in 1890. The work also shows how to create truncated variants and dimpled (inverted) and multiply dimpled / pimpled (zig-zag) forms, and how to use them to create multi-piece arrangements. For full details see Source Page. ********** 1913 A cut zigzag version appears in 'Trabajo Manual' by C Champy Alvear, which was published by Cabaut y Cia in Buenos Aires in 1913. ********** 1939 The cut version appears as 'Repisa Rinconera' in 'Plegado' by Rufino Yapur, which was published by Editores Independencia in Buenos Aires in 1939. *** The same book contains diagrams for the cut zigzag version. ********** 1939 The zigzag version appears as 'Resurgido' in 'Trabajo Manual Educativo' by Araminta V Aramburu, which was published by F Crespillo in Buenos Aires in 1939. No mention is made in the text of making a cut. ********** 1940 Two versions of this design appear in 'El Plegado y Cartonaje en la Escuela Primaria' by Antonio M Luchia and Corina Luciani de Luchia, which was published by Editorial Kapelusz in Buenos Aires in 1940. The cut version made from a blintzed square appears as 'Repisa Rinconera (Corner Shelf).
*** The cut zigzag version appears as 'Poligonos Resurgidos' (Raised Polygons)
********** 1951 An uncut version of the 'Repisa Rinconera' appears in Plegado laminas published by Della Penna, April 1951. *** The same work contains the cut zigzag version under the title 'Bajorrelieve' (Bas-relief). ********** |
