Thank you. ********** The Flapping Bird - 1883 onwards ********** The Flapping Dove - 1932 onwards ********** 1954 A flapping bird appears in 'Atari Origami Geijuitsu' by Akira Yoshizawa, which was published by Origami Geijutsu Sha in 1954 ********** 1957 Several designs for flapping birds (which appear to be derived from The Flapping Bird) appear in 'Origami Dokuhon' by Akira Yoshizawa, which was published by Ryokuchi-Sha in 1957.
********** 1961 'The Art of Origami' by Samuel Randlett, which was published by E P Dutton in New York in 1961, contained diagrams for Randlett's 'New Flapping Bird'. ********** 1970 'Simple Origami' by Eric Kenneway, which was published by The Dryad Press in Leicester in 1970, contained diagrams for a 'Flapping Dove' by Akira Yoshizawa. ********** 1971 Issue 17 of 'The Flapping Bird' magazine contained several designs for flapping birds: Flapping Bird by Arthur C Smith ********** Flapping Bird by J S Smith ********** Lark by Carol St John (also a flapping bird) ********** |
