Thank you. ********** 1897 As far as I know this design first appears as 'Boîte cubique', a cubic box with a separate lid, appears in 'Pliage et Decoupage du Papier' by C Savineau, which was published by Librairie Hatchette et Cie in Paris in 1897. Both parts are made by cutting into square grids.
********** The same design appears: 1900 As 'Caja Cubica' in an article in El Monitor 331 of 30th September 1900.
********** 1913 In 'Trabajo Manual' by C Champy Alvear, which was published by Cabaut y Cia in Buenos Aires in 1913, contains several designs made using this technique. An alternative lid in the form of a sleeve is also provided
