This design first occurs in the books of Isao Honda and is probably his original design. ********** In Japan (and in books by Japanese authors) 1944 As far as I know this design first appears in 'Origami Shuko' by Isao Honda, which was published in 1944. ********** This design also appears: 1958 As 'A Hen' in 'Origami: Japanese Paper Folding: Monkey Book', which was published in English by Toto Shuppan Co Ltd in 1958. ********** 1960 As 'A Hen' in 'All About Origami' by Isao Honda, which was published by Toto Bunka Company, Limited in Tokyo in 1960. ********** As 'A Hen' in 'Pocket Guide to Origami: Bow-Wow Book', by Isao Honda, which was published by the Asahi Origami Club, Tokyo in 1960. ********** 1962 As 'A Hen' in 'Living Origami Book 2' by Isao Honda, which was published by Charles E.
