The Doubled Square

This page is being used to collect information about the history of the paperfolding design known as The Doubled Square. Please contact me if you know any of this information is incorrect or if you have any other information that should be added. Thank you.

This design is made by weaving two strips of paper together. Once finished, it possesses pockets that allow other strips of paper to be threaded through it in two directiions at right angles to each other, facilitating the construction of many interesting modular forms.
