Information about the construction of cut and fold icosahedra from irregular nets can be found here. ********** 1913 A method of obtaining an icosahedron by cutting out an irregular template from a folded grid nof equilateral triangles appears in 'Trabajo Manual' by C Champy Alvear, which was published by Cabaut y Cia in Buenos Aires in 1913.
********** 1940 A method of constructing an icosahedron from a slit hexagon is given in 'El Plegado y Cartonaje en la Escuela Primaria' by Antonio M Luchia and Corina Luciani de Luchia, which was published by Editorial Kapelusz in Buenos Aires in 1940.
