A design for a 'Cow's Head' appears in 'Zhezhi Xinfa' (New Ways to Fold Paper), which was published by The Commercial Press in China in 1934.

The extended version of 'El Mundo de Papel' by Dr Nemesio Montero, which was published by G Miranda in Edicions Infancia in Valladolid in 1951, contains a design called 'El Toro Espanol' (The Spanish Bull)

A compound design for a 'A Cow' appears in 'All About Origami' by Isao Honda, which was published by Toto Bunka Company, Limited in Tokyo in 1960. The ears are created using a cut.

A design for a cow's head, in which cuts are used to create the ears and separate the horns, appears in 'Happy Origami: Whale Book' by Tatsuo Miyawaki, which was published by Biken-Sha in 1960.
