Happy Origami: Butterfly Book by Tatsuo Miyawaki, 1964

'Happy Origami: Butterfly Book by Tatsuo Miyawaki was published by Biken-Sha in 1964 and distributed by Japan Publications Trading Company.

The work contained folded examples of (most of) the designs as well as a small quantity of paper to fold them from.

Many of the designs are heavily cut and many are also depicted in the coloured plates with added decorations, especially eyes.

Several of the designs are folded and cut from circular paper.

The page containing the Cattle and Treador (sic) designs is folded and arranged so that the figures pop-up when it is opened.

My grateful thanks to the British Origami Society for letting me see a copy of this work.
