The 1956 Rupert Annual contains instructions for folding 'The Spark Man'. This may be an invention of Alfred Bestall.

1960

A design for 'A Winged-Horse' appears in 'All About Origami' by Isao Honda, which was published by Toto Bunka Company, Limited in Tokyo in 1960. The wings are created and separated using cuts. The ears are created using a cut.
