Thank you. ********** In Japan (and in publications by Japanese authors) 1931 These designs for Emperor and Empress Dolls appear in 'Origami (Part 1)' by Isao Honda, which was first published in Japan in 1931. ********** 1935 'Origami Moyo, Book One', by Kawarazaki Kodo, which was published by Unsodo in Japan in 1935, contained two prints showing two different designs for hina dolls. In the upper picture the female (empress) doll is on the left. In the lower picture the female (empress) doll is on the right. ********** 'Origami Moyo, Book Two' by Kawarazaki Kodo, which was also published in Japan in 1935, also contains a print depicting Hina Dolls, though of a very different style. ********** 1944 Designs for Emperor and Empress Dolls also appear in 'Origami Shuko' by Isao Honda, which was published in 1944. ********** 1951 Cut designs for simple Hina figures appear in 'Origami to Kirinuki' by Saburo Ueda, which was published by Kokkado in Tokyo, most probably in 1951.
********** 1957 These simple Prince and Princess Dolls (the Prince has a pointy head) appear in 'Origami: Book One' by Florence Sakade, which was published by the Charles E Tuttle Company in Rutland, Vermont and Tokyo in 1957. ********** 1959 These designs for a heavily cut 'Prince' and 'Princess' appear in 'Origami: Book Three' by Florence Sakade, which was published by the Charles E Tuttle Company in Rutland, Vermont and Tokyo in 1959. ********** 1960 Designs for a 'A pair of 'Dairibina'' appear in 'All About Origami' by Isao Honda, which was published by Toto Bunka Company, Limited in Tokyo in 1960. Multiple cuts are used in these designs. ********** 1965 Diagrams for a pair of Dairibina appear in 'The World of Origami' by Isao Honda, which was published by Japan Publications Trading Company in the USA in 1965.
