Volume IV of 'The Natural History of Animals, Vegetables and Minerals' is an English translation, published in London, probably in 1776, of part of the 36 volume work 'Histoire naturelle, générale et particuliére' by George Louis Leclerc, Count de Buffon. It contains a discussion of:

'Manuel des fondateurs et des directeurs des premières écoles de l'enfance, connues sous le nom de salles d'asile' by M. Cochin, was published by Hachette in Paris in 1833. It contains a small section on the use of paperfolding to teach simple geometric concepts.

A 'Rapport sur une Nouvelle Methode de Geometrie Pratique de Martin Chatelain' appeared in the 'Bulletin de la Societe D'Encouragement Pour L'Industrie Nationale' which was published in 1849.

1891

'Education of Head and Hand' by Gabriel Bamberger was published by A Flanagan in Chicago in 1891. The work is a compilation of six leaflets about manual work in schools. The second leaflet contains instructions for making geometric shapes by paperfolding.
