'Tokiwa hinagata' by Koheiji Terada and Shotaro Morida was published in 1700 contains a design for a kosode featuring Paper Cranes.

Source: 'Origami koten ni miru origami' (Origami in the Classics) by Satoshi Takagi, which was published by the Yasuhiro Sano, publishing office, Nippon Origami Association, in 1993.

I have not been able to locate a copy of this work online.
