| Pasteless Construction with Paper by Maria Gibert Martin, 1951 | |||||||
| 'Pasteless
Construction with Paper' by Maria Gibert Martin, was
published by Pageant Press (a well known vanity
publisher) in New York in 1951. It explains a pasteless
construction system for use in schools based largely
around adding paper / cardboard inserts to the Patisserie
Box. The Introduction makes it clear that the work is an explanation of a system of pasteless construction pioneered by Miss Marie Ebert. (See The Weaver's Shuttle: A World out of Nothing.) A full copy of the work is included at the foot of this page. I am grateful to the British Origami Society for allowing me access to a copy of this work.
********** After several mentions in earlier issues, an advert for this book appeared in the March 1959 issue of the Origamian.
********** There is also reference to this book and the 'Weaver's Shuttle Box' in 'Modern Origami' by James Minoru Sakoda, which was published by Simon and Schuster in New York in 1969.

********** The Weaver Shuttle - The Patisserie Box The Weaver Shuttle is enhanced with inserts to produce furniture.
********** The Weaver Shuttle with Poiints Separated - a version of The Patisserie Box This design, which is not illustrated, is simply 'folded with the two outside panels of even width, while the centre panel is of greater width than the outside panels.' It is used in a similar way to the standard Weaver Shuttle. ********** The Work
