Origami (Yorkshire TV series) by Robert Harbin, 1968 to 1971 | |||||||
'Origami' was a Yorkshire TV series by Robert Harbin which consisted of 32 ten minute episodes broadcast between 1968 and 1971, in each of which he demonstrated how to fold objects such as birds, animals and flowers. According to Nostalgia Central, and somewhat unfortunately, from today's perspective, 'The show also featured a Japanese girl who was, in fact, Leeds actress Anita Kay in a wig and kimono with lots of makeup.' According to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrFcwK-upu8, Anita Kay was subsequently succeeded in the role by Cherry (surname not known) and Me Me Lay (who may also have been a British actress). There is also a clip of an episode featuring Cherry here. Harbin also contributed a number of related articles about paperfolding to ITV's 'Look-In' magazine during this period. ********** The information about the individual episodes on this page comes largely from the pages about Robert Harbin on the IMDb site, which also contains two images: The date of the episode this image advertises is currently unknown. *** The date of the episode this image shows is currently unknown.
