| Origami: Volume 2 by Tokinobu and Hideko Mihara, c1960 | |||||||
'Origami: Volume 2' by Tokinobu and Hideko Mihara was published by the Oriental Culture Book Company (a publishing and import business run by the authors) in San Francisco. The work is not dated and I do not know the precise date of publication from any other source. However, Volume 1 was published in late 1959 so that it cannot be earlier than 1960. An article in the issue of Hokubei Mainichi for 13th April 1960 states that one of the authors is visiting Tokyo to, among other things, discuss 'the second edition of 'Origami' book'. I take this to be reference to Volume 2 since as far as I know no second edition of Volume 1 was ever produced. 1960 is therefore the most likely date for the publication of Volume 2. **********
********** The work explains how to fold thirteen simple designs (there are two different paper planes), three of which are cut. The work includes actual folded examples of twelve of the designs (but not the second paper plane) as well as step-by-step diagrams. This page is based on a copy of the work kindly made available to me by the British Origami Society. **********
