history of the the word 'Origami'. Please contact me if
you know any of this information is incorrect or if you
have any other important information that should be

Thank you. ********** 1964 The March 1964 issue of 'Black Belt' contained an article 'The Eighteem Martial Arts of Japan' by Dr Gordan Warner which contains the following information: ********** 1967 An article in the magazine 'Flying' of May 1967 noted that one of the entrants to The 1st International Paper Aircraft Competition did not understand the meaning of the word 'origami', suggesting that it was still not widely understood at this date. This idea is perhaps confirmed by the fact that in an article about the competition in The Washington Post, 22nd February 1967 the word 'origami' is mispelt 'origama'. ********** |
