The Cut Phantom | |||||||
This
page is being used to collect information about the
history of the origami design I call The Cut Phantom. A
cut is used to create the Phantom's hood. Please contact
me if you know any of this information is incorrect or if
you have any other information that should be added.
Thank you. A cut is used to create the Phantom's hood. This design first occurs in the books of Isao Honda and is quite probably his original design. ********** 1944 As far as I know this design first appears in 'Origami Shuko' by Isao Honda, which was published in 1944. ********** 1959 There is a reference to a ghost with its 'hood spread out over its hollow countenance' in an article in the Australian newspaper The Age for 30th July 1959, which is most probably a reference to this design. ********** The design also appears: 1965 As 'Phantom' in 'The World of Origami' by Isao Honda, which was published in the USA by Japan Publications Trading Company in 1965. ********** |
