and history of the origami design I call the The Cut
Bird-Base Turtle. Please contact me if you know any of

information that should be added. Thank you. A cut is used to separate the back legs. This design first occurs in the books of Isao Honda and is possibly his original design. ********** 1944 As far as I know this design, from a bird base, where the cut is used to separate the back legs, first appears in 'Origami Shuko' by Isao Honda, which was published in 1944. ********** The same design also appears: 1960 As 'A Turtle' in 'All About Origami' by Isao Honda, which was published by Toto Bunka Company, Limited in Tokyo in 1960. ********** As 'A Turtle' in 'Pocket Guide to Origami: Bow-Wow Book', by Isao Honda, which was published by the Asahi Origami Club, Tokyo in 1959. Also see 1960. ********** 1968 In 'Your Book of Paperfolding' by Vanessa and Eric de Maré, which was published by Faber and Faber in London in 1968, where it was is to be a traditional Japanese design. ********** 1967 As 'Turtle' in 'Origami Folding Fun: Pony Book' by Isao Honda, which was published by Japan Publications Inc in Tokyo in 1967. ********** |
