Fold and Cut Paper Snowflakes

This page is being used to collect information about the history of Paper Snowflakes, which I define as designs cut or torn from squares that possess sixfold rotational symmetry.

There is a separate page about Paper Doilies (ie a similar class of design, but possessing eightfold symmetry).
