'Ehon masukagami' (Picture Book: A Bright, Clear Mirror) by Nishikawa Sukenobu was published in 1748. It contains several prints which feature paperfolds.

The subject of this print is the Hina Doll Festival. The ladies (or perhaps children) on the left are folding paper. One holds up a Paper Crane. There are also a completed Komoso and Paper Boat (the version with three sails) lying on the floor.

This print shows a wedding ceremony. It includes two sake kettles decorated with Ocho and Mecho.

The woman on the right is wearing a Paper Crane patterned kimono. On a table beside her lies a noshi.

The lower left panel of this print shows a package to which a noshi is attached.
