These three articles contain mentions of 'pajaritas de papel'. The first two (the same article in two different newspapers) simply refer to pajaritas de papel as if the phrase means 'of no value' or 'pointless'. The third article refers to thrones toppling as though they were paper birds. This suggests that the paper birds it refers to would normally stand upright and thus seems to be a probable reference to the Cocotte / Pajarita design. ********** El correo nacional 19th November 1839
