Article in The Boy's Own Paper, June 1886 | |||||||
This article, titled 'A Paper Bird and a Paper Boat', described how to cut a square from an oblong, contained diagrams for The Flapping Bird and described how to fold the Chinese Junk. The Flapping Bird is called 'the mechanical bird of the Japanese Jugglers' and this part of the article is clearly derived from the article about the 'Un oiseau mecanique en papier' in La Nature of 25th April 1885. The Chinese Junk is referred to as 'a very fair representation of a barge' and 'one of the best of the paper boats'. ********** ********** ********** |
