This article was titled 'National Standards and Emblems' and was written by H K W Wilcox. It tells the (probably apocryphal) story of Betsy Ross and the change from six-pointed to five-pointed stars on the American national flag. The article includes the words 'she showed them how such a star could be made, by folding a sheet of paper and producing the patterrn by a single cut.' ********** **********
