'Arrete reglant l'organisation pedagogique des maternelles publique et les programmes d'enseignement' (Decree governing the educational organisation of public nursery schools and the teaching programme' of 28/7/1882.

This decree deals with the education of children in 'ecoles maternelles' for children aged 2 to 5 (des petits enfants) and in children aged 5 to 7 (les classes enfantines) in France's new educational system.

The decree clearly sets out the objects and methods of such schools, and provides a curriculum.
