The Snapdragon
This page attempts to record what is known about the origin and history of the origami design known as the Snapdragon. Please contact me if you know any of this information is incorrect or if you have any other information that should be added. Thank you.

As far as I know the first appearance of this design is in 'Winter Nights Entertainments' by R M Abraham, which was first published by Constable and Constable in London in 1932.

The 1953 Rupert Annual contained instructions for making the Snapdragon under the title 'How To Make A Paper Snapper'.

The design also appears, as 'Snapper 2', in 'Paper Magic' by Robert Harbin, which was published by Oldbourne in London in 1956.
