The Flapping Dove
 
This page attempts to record what is known about the origin and history of the origami design known as the Flapping Dove. Please contact me if you know any of this information is incorrect or if you have any other information that should be added. Thank you.

If the tail of this design is pulled the wings will waggle slightly, but they will not flap freely in the way the wings of the Flapping Bird will do.

As far as I know this design first appears in 'Origami (Part 2)' by Isao Honda, which was published in Japan in 1932.
