| Other Folded Paper Polyhedra | |||||||
| This
page is being used to collect information about the
history of other folded paper polyhedra (ie thiose forms
which do not have a more specific page devoted to them),
whether cut or uncut, single-sheet or modular. Please
contact me if you know any of this information is
incorrect or if you have any other information that
should be added. Thank you. This page is about the construction of polyhedra from regular starting shapes. Information about the construction of cut and fold icosahedra from irregular nets can be found here. ********** The 2-Part Silveroctahedron 1887 As far as I know this design first appears as 'Ballon fait sans rognure avec un carre de papier ou d'etoffe' (Balloon made without offcuts from a sheet of paper or cloth) in the issue of 'Boite aux lettres' of 7th January 1888. The design is made in two parts which then need to be glued or sewn together.
********** The same design appears: 1889 As 'Ballon fait sans rognure avec un carre de papier ou d'etoffe' (Balloon made without offcuts from a sheet of paper or cloth) in 'La Science Pratique' by Gaston Tissandier, which was published by G Masson in Paris in 1889
