********** 1895 A hexagonal decoration titled 'Asa no Ha' (The Hemp Leaf) appears in issue 1895 / 12 of the Japanese children's magazine 'Shokokumin'.
********** 1944 'Origami Shuko' by Isao Honda, which was published in 1944, contains diagrams for folding several hexagonal decorations (including the Hexagonal Rosette) from hexagons.
********* 1965 A design for a 'Six-sided Ornament' folded from a hexagon appears in 'The World of Origami' by Isao Honda, which was published by Japan Publications Trading Company in the USA in 1965.
