'Leichtfasslicher Unterricht in der Kunst die Servietten ...' by Friedrich Kaspar Funke was published in Erfurt in 1845. In his book 'Folded Beauty' Joan Sallas describes it as 'the first monograph dealing exclusively with napkin folds.'

The book contains instructions for folding napkins into a number of complex forms. It contains two illustrations which are reproduced below.
