'Die Arbeit und die neue Erziehung nach Froebel's Methode' (Work and the new education according to Froebel's method) by Bertha von Marenholz-Bulow was published by Adolph Enslin in Berlin in 1866. The Foreword states that the work was complete in 1864 but publication had to be postponed pending the obtaining of permission to publish some of the correspondence. The work contains a section about Froebel's Intermediate Class (a transition between kindergarten and trade school),
Explains the relevance of paperfolding as a bridge between the two educational stages: Roughly translated: 'The architectural Schonheitsforman, which appear in various sequences of paperfolding, approach the preliminary drawings for trade schools for architectural decorations and are completed by the school of Ausschhneiden.'
and uses a lesson in paperfolding taken from Koehler's 'Das Frobel'sche Faltblatt' as an example of good practice:
Much of the rest of the work is taken up with an account of the author's efforts to promote Froebel's educational ideas and methods in various European countries, and the reproduction of some of her correspondence. Paperfolding is not mentioned in this part of the work. A full copy of the work can be accessed online here. **********
